Nacho Mama’s 13 Brewery 11
In a tight contest Nacho Mama’s prevailed with John Barrett chasing home four runs, Jack Martin three and Jim Stewart two in the win. Martin and Jeff Hultgren each walloped a triple. John Remhoff tore the ball up for the Brewery with four hits; Phil Holmes had three and drove in three runs, while Mike Endelman and Art Sinisi drove in two. Holmes and Sinisi each had a triple in the game.
DaVinci’s 19 Sand Bar 15
In a team effort DaVinci’s nipped Sand Bar with Craig Cunningham, Paul Shelton, and Bill Shurina contributing three hits, while Mike Schwab and Ron Hobson smacked a triple. Shelton accumulated five RBI, Cunningham three, and Bill Thompson two. Dave Banghart, Jim George and John Sherwin lined three hits for Sand Bar. George chased home three runs, Dan Dumbauld and Larry Anspach two runs.
Mutual of Omaha Bank 23 Porky’s 12
The Bank’s bats came alive with Bob Williams and John Cavanagh banging out four hits, coupled by three hits each by Art Sinisi and Charlie Lamb. Ed Brack of the Bank smacked a home run and had four RBI as did Herman Griffith; Sinisi and Jerry Engel had three, Lamb and John Rysak two. Rich Krumholz, Tom Pugh, Tom Tankersley, Jim Ramage, and Jimmy Cuevas stroked three hits for Porky’s, with Krumholz and Ramage crushing a triple. Tom Bishard drove in two runs and John Haskins two in the loss.

Tom Pugh led Porky’s zinging out four hits with winning pitcher Dan Moriarty, Jimmy Cuevas, Jim Ramage and Bob Grant having three. Moriarty drove in four runs; Pugh, Cuevas, John Haskins and Mike Puskar two. DaVinci’s Bill Wright tagged the ball for four hits, while Paul Shelton had three. Jim Williams launched a three homerun for DaVinci’s and ended up with four RBI with Bill Thompson having two.

Ed Brack’s bat was on fire for the Bank with five hits two which were homeruns. Teammate John Cavanagh hammered out four hits; Bob Williams, Steve Clark and John DeRosa had three as part of the Bank’s twenty-eight barrage. Clark and Ed Kingsbury belted a triple. Brack accounted for five RBI, Cavanagh four, Clark and DeRosa three, Art Sinisi and Jerry Engel two. John Gross, Jim Blankenship and Jack Martin had three hits for Nacho’s. Blankenship, Jon Wiseman, Pete Oellrich, and Jeff Hultgren walloped a homerun, with Jim Gilligan and Martin mashing a triple. Martin ended the game with five RBI, Wiseman and Blankenship three; Gross, Oellrich, and Doug Stang two.
Brewery 25 Sand Bar 24
In a game that can be best described as a brawl, the Brewery prevailed behind a thirty-one hit attack compared to Sand Bar’s thirty hits. Chuck Reich pummeled the ball for five hits for the Brewery; Jack O’Brien, John Remhoff, Phil Holmes, Nick Jacullo, Tom Whitlock, and Bill Kayhart all had three. Steve Hummel smacked a homerun and a triple giving him five runs driven in for the Brewery; Mike Endelman, Jim Gilligan and Whitlock had three, with Reich and Jacullo who had a triple having two runs to their credit. Ralph Sieja nailed four hits for Sand Bar; Dave Banghart, Jim George, Ray Kane, Tom Bishard, Rick and Frank Benedetti, Dan Dumbauld and Larry Anspach had three. Bishard, who homered, chalked up seven RBI, Frank Benedetti four; with George, Kane, Sieja, and Dumbauld having two.

The Bank continued to smoke the ball accounting for thirty hits. Herman Griffith and John Rysak scorched the ball for four hits; John Cavanagh, Art Sinisi, John DeRosa and Charlie Lamb had three. Bob Williams, Ed Brack, Ed Kingsbury and Steve Clark all ballasted a homerun, with Lamb and Mike Puskar knocking a triple. Puskar drove in five runs, Clark and Griffith four; Williams, Cavanagh, Sinisi, DeRosa and Rysak three. David Banghart nailed four hits for Sand Bar, with Jim George, Ray Kane, Frank Benedetti, and John Sherwin having three. Sherwin crushed a homerun with Tom Bishard thumping two triples. Bishard recorded six RBI, John Remhoff five, Ralph Sieja three, while Rick and Frank Benedetti, and Sherwin had two.

Craig Cunningham, Bill Thompson, Paul Shelton, Murph Knapke, and Mike Schwab all stroked three hits for DaVinci’s. Winning pitcher Jerry Cnudde and Jim Williams each pulverized the ball for a three run homerun with Schwab also cranking a homer. Knapke who walloped a triple had four RBI, Thompson and Schwab two. Steve Hummel spanked the ball for four hits for the Brewery and drove in three runs, while Nick Jacullo who popped a triple had four RBI

Porky’s pitcher Dan Moriarty, help his cause launching two homeruns as part of his thee hits giving him four RBI in the game. Teammate Rich Krumholz stroked three hit as well; Krumholz, Tom Pugh, Mike Hopkins, and Larry Wildes had two RBI. Jim Blankenship paced Nacho’s drilling three hits. Blankenship, John Gross, and Jeff Hultgren all slammed a triple, with Gross getting two RBI in the loss.

Jim White had three hits with Jim Battye and Joe Kruse chipping in two hits apiece to lead Mango’s attack. White and Kruse collected two RBI. Tom Loiacono, Denny Davis, and Paul Burnett paced Joey’s with two hits each with Burnett driving in two runs.
CJ’s on the Bay 14 Stonewalls 2
CJ’s Roger Fleming, Mike Galatis and Jim O’Meara sprayed two hits each while Don Schwartz hoisted a two run homer, with Paul Womack chasing home two runs in the game. John Wood of Stonewalls was the only player to muster two hits, as pitcher Butch Monson kept Stonewalls bats in check only giving up eight hits.
Rookies 15 Speakeasy 7
Rookies used the long ball to defeat Speakeasy with John Hollerbach booming a home run and Joe Callahan a triple as part of his two hits. Hollerbach drove in four runs, Callahan three, John Ranieri and Jerry Lenhoff two. Bob Levasseur, Leon Schmitt, Don Rooksberry, Al Cenicola and Ron Irwin nailed two hits each for Speakeasy, with one of Irwin’s being a homerun. Irwin and Chet Dal Bianco had two RBI in the loss.

Flamingo’s Ray Zielinski, Ray Niemeyer, Jerry Kratz, Steve Slaggie and Chuck Wilson lined two hits apiece in the win. Tom Grucci bashed a two run homerun with Kratz driving home two runs as well. Dan Standard, Ed Dreyfus and Warren Uhl stroked two hits for Mango’s with Bill Dauch driving in two runs.
Joey’s Pizza 13 Speakeasy 12
Joey’s scored five runs in the first two innings and then had to hold off a Speakeasy charge for the win. Denny Davis smashed four hits for the Pizza Boys, with Bob Monaco and Bill Moors plastering three, while Dick Corley, Tom Lioacono, Bill Kaschube, and Fuzz Fazekas had two. Monaco who clubbed a homerun had four RBI; Kaschube, Tony Brock and Paul Burnett two. Mike Arnold stung the ball for three hits, which included a homerun and a triple for Speakeasy. Teammates Chet Dal Bianco, Ron Irwin, Leon Schmitt, Don Rooksberry, Al Cenicola and Ernie Famiglissti, had two hits, Dal Bianco drove in four runs and Famiglissti two.
Rookies 17 Stonewalls 14
Jerry Lenhoff and Ralph Leiterding tagged three hits each for Rookies in a come from behind victory scoring five runs in the top of the seventh inning, with George Kirk and John Ranieri having two hits. Leiterding and Dan O Sullivan pounded a triple leading to Leiterding racking up five RBI and Sullivan four. Winning pitcher Angelo Polizzi, Steve Roberts and Rich Larkin chased home two runs. Stonewalls Tom Purtell and Gary Zentner jolted the ball for three hits, while John Luegering, John Wood, Dave Coward, John Rubichard, and Dan Cody had two. Luegering, Zentner, and Wood had three RBI, and Rubichard two.
