The Marco Island Police Foundation will host its 8th Annual Rib Cook-off at the Marco Island Brewery on Saturday, May 11, 2019. The event will take place between noon and 5 PM and will feature live music by Bill Beck, raffles, a 50-50, good food and lots of fun. Rib judging will be at 4 PM and tickets are only $25.
“Over the years, the annual Rib Cook-off has been one of our most important fundraisers,” said Marco Island Police Foundation President John DeRosa. “Not only are you going to have a great ribs meal, but you will be supporting the foundation’s scholarship fund which provides education support for our police officers and their families.”
Defending its rib title from last year will be the Island Country Club. This year’s contestants will be judged by five seniors from the Marco Island Academy.
“Special thanks to our friends at the Brewery who are donating all the meals for the cook-off,” added DeRosa. “This event is a great way to show our appreciation for the folks in blue, along with their families.”
The Marco Island Police Foundation is a community-based, nonpolitical, civic-minded, charitable organization that works closely with the Marco Island Police Department in encouraging and promoting citizen participation in maintaining community safety. The foundation honors our police officers through special recognition programs to assist our officers and their children with their continuing education and other challenges when necessary.
