Marco Island Police Department Partners with The Shelter for Abused Women & Children for a Donation Drive of Dreams

Marco Island Police Department has teamed with The Shelter for Abused Women & Children this Holiday season by hosting a Donation Drive of Dreams. We will begin collecting new and unwrapped gifts and basic necessities for women. children. and men of all ages in the lobby of the Marco Island Police Department as of December 5. 2012. The donation box will be located near the elevator at the Marco Island Police Department located at 51 Bald Eagle Dr. We will continue to collect items until Friday December 21. 2012 at 10am.

“What better way to recognize this special season than to remember those who have been dis­ placed by violence by giving aid and comfort . Many of the recipients of our efforts are chil­ dren whose lives have been disrupted. We are pleased to work with our friends at the Shelter in support of victims of abuse.” said Chief Don Hunter

The Shelter for Abused Women & Children has been in existence since 1986. They help women. men and children who are victims of abuse to find safety and comfort. “The Donation Drive of Dreams will begin Wednesday, December 5. 2012 and will continu e until Friday December 21. 20 12 at 10,00am” said Brandy Hazel. organizer of the drive. “We hope this becomes a great tradition”.
