Marco Island Police Department Halloween Safety Tips

The Marco Island Police Department wants to work with you to make Halloween safe!

We will have several extra Police Officers on duty during traditional trick or treat hours.  Additionally your Police Officers will be supported by Code Compliance Officers, Reserve & Auxiliary Police Officers, Police Volunteers as well as members of the Marco Police Foundation – Neighborhood Watch group.

Please consider the following suggestions:

• A parent or responsible adult should always accompany young children on their neighborhood rounds.

• If your older children are going alone, plan and review the route that is acceptable to you. Agree on a

specific time when they should return home.

• Only go to homes with a porch light on and never enter a home or car for a treat.

• Carry a cell phone for quick communication.

• The Marco Island Police Department should be notified immediately of any suspicious or unlawful activity.

You may wish to visit  the Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s sex offender website (www.fdle.state.fl.us/Content/home.aspx) for detailed information on the registered sex offenders living on the island (58 N Collier, 173 Tahiti, 885 Elkhorn, 1140 Martinique and 1981 San Marco Rd).
