Baby Cash Macchiarolo is finally home! That is the good news from Marco Island Fire Rescue Foundation president, Dianna Dohm. Just over four months old, Cash is home from the hospital. Born prematurely, he has already endured two heart surgeries and experienced several feeding tube changes in his young life. He is the son of local fire fighter, Nicholas Macchiarolo, and his wife, Gabriella.

Greg and Richard Sumer, owners of Marco Island Mattress Company are giving back to their community now that they call Marco Island home. Originally from New Jersey, the Sumer’s continue the tradition they started there.

“We decided Cash would

be the perfect recipient of a Welcome Home donation on Marco Island,” said Richard Sumer as he handed a check to Dianna who thanked them for their generosity and asked that others let them know how much it is appreciated.

“Cash is beginning the next chapter in his life at home with his parents,” said Dianna. “The Fire Rescue Foundation will work on a future fundraiser for Cash with the Firefighters Union. We will get more information out to the public when that is about to kick-off. Right now, we want to welcome Cash home!” Dianne added, “He is already a star on Marco Island!”
