The Marco Island Masters Festival of the Arts will be held April 10 & 11, 10 a.m to 5 p.m., Elkcam Circle East across from the Esplanade Mixed-Use Shopping and Residences right in the center of town. The Marco Masters Festival is the perfect show. The quality of the artists is the finest of any show held in Collier County. Imagine a large over-sized art festival condensed down to just the best 70 artists; this is The Marco Masters. The quality of the work is superb. Award winning artists from across the nation will be displaying fantastic jewelry, paintings, sculpture, printmaking, hand blown glass, ceramices and wearable art.
This is the best of the best show. Truly a show with masters of their chosen art. During our 2009 event an artist went to change clothes at the beginning of the event while a festival staff member tended to the artists booth. A patron arrived at the booth and began to ask questions. Our staff person explained that he was tending to the booth while the artist was collecting more work. The patron said, “You work on this event? I go to art festivals all the time from Coconut Grove to Michigan and although I have only seen the first section of this show, I have to say that I think this is the finest quality art festival I have been to all year.”
The 2010 event has improved on perfection and has gathered the best artists who visit Southwest Florida. You will enjoy this event where you won’t have to fight the crowds for parking, and get to art in a beautiful setting, talk to the creators of each piece without having to rush. Artists are even willing to bring artwork by your home after show hours to see if it the perfect piece. Many shows claim to have the highest quality one of a kind art, The Marco Masters truly does. So if you want to visit the perfectly open air art show then head to the Marco Masters Festival of the Arts.
Proceeds from this event will benefit The Marco Island Foundation for the Arts. MIFA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the arts in public places on Marco Island. MIFA is a growing membership organization that believes art can be catalytic in bringing people together and can complement the spirit of the people who live in a particular location. Through public art we hope to engage people, to stir their imaginations and inspire dialogue. Art can help us to shape our community places, create community rituals, celebrate community history, and encourage pride of place. www.marcoarts.org
