We became time travelers on Saturday as the Marco Island Historical Museum and Society partnered with the Marco Island Civic Association (MICA) to celebrate the City’s anniversary and MICA’s 50 years of service to the island. “The Marco Island Historical Society and Museum are so proud to be a part of this significant milestone in our city’s history,” said MIHS Executive Director Pat Rutledge. “Partnering with MICA, we wanted to give our guests a unique opportunity to see history come alive in two very important periods of our rich past.”
Members of the MIHS re-enactors portrayed historic figures from Marco’s Pioneer Period. Fast forwarding to the Modern Marco exhibit and era, MICA representatives were present to answer questions about Residents Beach and the Deltona Deed Restrictions.

The museum gift shop was a bustling marketplace during the event. From historical books to handcrafted jewelry, it is the place to go for items of our history and heritage.
