The evening began with a cocktail hour followed by opening remarks and thanks from the Chamber’s Executive Director Dianna Dohm and outgoing President Alex Parker.
“We’ve had quite an unexpected and exciting year. We couldn’t have done it without your help,” expressed a grateful Dianna Dohm.Alex Parker continued the sentiment, “Our mission statement is to promote a healthy business and tourism climate in order to protect the quality of life in the community. I know that I stand before a room full of testimonials of how we have helped our businesses and community.”
Following the opening remarks, the guests enjoyed a delicious dinner created by Chef Bob. After dinner, the Leadership Marco Class of 2017 was presented with plaques.
Leadership Marco Class of 2017 included:Mohammed Ahmed, David Batiato, Stefan Bolsen, Wanda Burson, Lisa Conley, Heather Hall, Samantha Kopren, Thomas Mann, Kaitlen Magdalener, Megan McShane, Sue Olszak, Dr. Gerald Swiacki, and Abby Yetter.
Dianna Dohm and Allyson Richards were honored with special appreciation plaques for chairing Leadership Marco 2017.
Collier County Commissioner Donna Fiala gave the Oath of Office to the 2018 Board of Directors.
As Alex Parker turned over the presidency to Erik Condee he joked, “I’ll tell you the same thing Dick Shanahan told me ‘It’s just a few ribbon cuttings, some After Fives…a couple meetings…nothing to it’.”After Erik Condee’s hopes for the coming year and final remarks, DJ Steve Reynolds kicked up the music with Lady Gaga’s “Just Dance” to get the party started.
