The Marco Island Center for the Arts announced today the opening of its August 2015 Art Exhibition “Electric Summer Nights.” The exhibition is an all medium event including photography, watercolor, oil, clay, acrylic and even a quilt.
The exhibition is judged by Viviana Dominguez. Viviana is a fine arts conservator specializing on murals, paintings, works of art on paper and historic finishes. She has more than 25 years of experience working in the field of preserving prominent private and public arts collections. She includes the Smithsonian Institution and the J. Paul Getty Conservation Institute among her clients.
Prominent local artists were asked to submit works before judging that defined an “electric summer night.” It is noted by Executive Director Hyla Crane, “These artists did not disappoint! Diverse media and superb talent fill this exhibition.”
The judge has announced the following awards for the artists in this exhibition:
- First Place: Electrically Charged, Photography by Kat Rinaldo
- Second Place: Evening Reflections at Port of the Islands, Photography by Bonnie Reuling
- Third Place: Pink House, Goodland, Oil by Tara O’Neill
- Honorable Mention: Night Sky: July 4th #1, Photography by Norman Zemel
Formal exhibition opening and reception social will be hosted by the Center for the Arts onAugust 11, 2015 from 5:30P.M. to 7:00P.M. The reception is open to the public. The exhibition will be on display from August 3, 2015 through August 25, 2015.
