The welcome back party for the Marco Island Area Canadian Club is set for Thursday, Jan. 15, 4-6 PM, at the Marco Island Center for the Arts at 1010 Winterberry Drive.
The annual meet-and-greet event will feature street art, refreshments, gift drawings and good fun thanks to club sponsors the Marco Island Center for the Arts, BMO Harris Bank, Costco Wholesale in Naples, Island Title Five Star Agency, Keller Williams Realty and Sandy Elliott Interiors.
Rosemary Wick, president of the Board of Directors at the Center for the Arts says, “I’m looking forward to welcoming back our Canadian friends to this special event. We will have the west end of our building painted by Douglas Hoekzema by then. You can see his art at www.elhoxxoh.com, and inside we’ll be featuring more colorful street art by artists from Miami in the main gallery.”
Allison Ouverson, the social media director at the Center, saysthe street art exhibit “will be fun, cool, unique and artsy — a great backdrop for the evening”.
Hyla Crane, the Center’s executive director, is looking forward to “showcasing all the classes we feature for clay, drawing, painting, stone sculpture, photography and specialty classes in illustrated journaling, leatherworks and basket weaving. We also have a great lineup of exciting events throughout the season such as our ‘Musical Interlude’ series and ‘Up Close and Personal’ speaker series. The highlight of our calendar is the Gala Masquerade Ball on Feb. 15 at the Island Country Club.”
Any Canadians visiting the area are welcome. Membership in the Marco Island Area Canadian Club is free, and the event is free thanks to the club’s sponsors. A small optional donation of $5 or $10 is suggested to help with the activities of the Art Center. Please RSVP to Gary Elliott at email@example.com.
