Local Student Wins Essay
Madison Hopkins, a seventh grader, who is the school’s winner in the county-wide “Laws of Life” essay contest, as she is being awarded the certificate and a $25 gift card to the Coastland Mall by the school’s CEO/Principal, Mr. George Abounader. Wendy Wynne Hodgson, the Coordinator for Social Studies for the District School Board of Collier County, organized this 18th annual Character Education Essay Contest and invited schools throughout the County to participate. Hundreds of excellent essays were received and a panel of impartial judges read and selected the winners. Maddie wrote about the character trait of “tolerance” and cited a personal experience of a teacher who promoted tolerance in her class.
