The Marco Island Sail & Power Squadron, part of America’s Boating Club, will celebrate its 40th Change of Watch ceremony on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at the Marco Island Yacht Club. District 22 Commander Susan Lomastro, AP will administer the pledge to incoming squadron commander Gene Burson, P/Lt/C as outgoing Commander Rhonda Gloodt looks on. Commander Burson will then present the incoming bridge officers and Commander Lomastro will lead them in their pledge of performance.
The local squadron is part of the national organization which is becoming known as America’s Boating Club and is devoted to boating education and safety and civic/community involvement. We offer several courses from beginning boating safety to advanced piloting and navigation courses, as well as seminars on various topics such as anchoring, GPS/charts, weather and more.
Please join us the fourth Tuesday of each month at 5 PM for our Captain’s Meeting at CJ’s on the Bay. You need not be a boater or a captain, just bring an interest in boating and enjoying the waters around Southwest Florida. “Come for the education, stay for the fun.”
