“Bully Billy is Back: The Burrowing Owls are Worried” is an award winning story of Manny, a small burrowing owl, who has difficulty learning new things and Bully Billy, a great horned owl, who is angry because he has no friends. He watches Manny struggle and sees opportunities to be a bully. Unfortunately, while bullying Manny, Bully Billy is injured. Later, Manny sees Bully Billy in danger and does an act of kindness to save Bully Billy. After Bully Billy is saved, he decides it is better to be a friend than a bully. Resources about bullying for teachers and parents are included at the end of the book. The book focuses on social-awareness and interpersonal skills to help children establish and maintain positive relationships with others.
