Playing is an Opportunity to Learn at the Lighthouse of Collier Summer Camp!
Lighthouse of Collier, Inc. is pleased to announce the 6th Annual Summer Camp for blind/visually impaired children. The camp is free for blind and visually impaired campers and is made possible by the very generous donations of American Comfort Limousines, Betsy and Dale Peck, Naples Children & Education Foundation, Special Needs Children’s Fund, Karleen Putnam, Wasmer, Shroeder & Co. and United Way of Collier County.
In addition, programming sponsors are Naples Zoo, Home Depot, Naples Art Association, Naples Botanical Gardens, Greater Naples YMCA, City of Naples Fire and Rescue, Sun-N-Fun Lagoon, and Old Naples Surf Shop.
The 6th Annual Summer Camp is scheduled five days a week Monday through Friday starting July 6th through July 31 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm; ending with an end of the camp picnic award ceremony on August 1st. The camp is being held at the Girl Scout House, located at 601 Park Street, Naples FL and will include a multitude of weekly field trips and experiences in the community. Some of the activities will include: tennis lessons, paddle boarding, field trips, music, crafts, large print playing cards and board games, and making new friends. The campers will have the opportunity to learn about magnifiers, talking watches, Braille, and state of the art equipment that assists the blind and visually impaired. Transportation to and from the field trips will be provided along with daily lunches for the campers and volunteers.
