She stands on Ellis Island so proud and tall,
No way around her to build a wall.
A symbol of freedom to countries everywhere,
The disappointment that now she must bare.
Our hearts are broken and she is sad,
For all the injustice we inflict is bad.
Our immigrant families hopeful and free,
Wondering now how their life will be.
We feel her tears as we shed our own,
We have to fight back: She is NOT alone.
