Letter to the Editor: Michael Memoli

Dear Council Member

I am writing you to express my concerns with the Marco Island Rental Ordinance, currently before the City Council, which would include

condominiums in the new regulations. I am an owner of a condominium on Marco Island and believe this ordinance will have negative, far reaching effects on the City of Marco Island and its property owners by reducing the size of the available rental market, reducing the influx of visitors, decreasing the seasonal dollars spent, increasing property owners liability exposure, and increasing work for Boards and Property Management.

I strongly encourage the City Council to exclude condominiums from the new ordinance based on the fact that we already have regulations and controls in place to take care of any renter issues. I believe that most of the condominium associations on the Island have restrictions in there by-laws related to noise and parking, and any complaints are generally handled internally.

Thank you for taking the time to read my letter and I trust you will consider my concerns when voting on this issue.

Very truly yours

Michael Memoli
