For example, is now the time for Marco Island to acquire our own COPCN (Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity) thus allowing Marco Island emergency services the option to become independent of Collier County, IF necessary? I believe my 45 years as a physician and surgeon faced with numerous emergency medical situations qualify me to better understand, fully assess, and solidify what is in the best interests of our residents’ emergency medical needs and safety.
Additionally, the long awaited and discussed plans for Veterans’ Community Park are being fully vetted and tailored to meet the needs and desires of the majority of today’s Marco Island residents. We need to move forward and implement these plans and make this valuable resource fully functional.
I have had the opportunity to serve in multiple leadership and teaching positions during my long medical career. I have participated and chaired various community organizations. I feel that these experiences will allow me to effectively interact with my fellow councilors in a civil, thoughtful and productive manner. In an attempt at consensus, we as community leaders can work together to meet the needs of our citizens.
Marco Island is our home and we love living here. I look forward to contributing my best efforts in keeping the island a great place to live, a great place to vacation, and a great place to host our families, friends and visitors. My website is presently being established. There you can examine my ideas on issues that face Marco Island and where you can share your comments, ideas and concerns. I want to listen and interact to the community at every opportunity and I hope to earn your vote on Tuesday, November 8, 2016.
