Last Happy Hour Before Packaging Event

The Marco Island Meals of Hope’s last Happy Hour for Hope of 2018 will take place on Monday, October 22 from 5-7 PM at The SpeakEasy, 1106 N. Collier Blvd., Marco Island.

The SpeakEasy will offer drinks at reduced prices and hors d’oeuvres. Bill “Captain Happy Hope” Morris stated, “The SpeakEasy’s new owners are extremely supportive. We know we will have a great time.” Admission is $20.

Marco Island Meals of Hope will hold its annual packaging event November 17 at 8:30 AM at the Marco Island Charter Middle School.

The packaging draws over 500 volunteers together as part of Team Hope, packaging over 200,000 meals for those in need. To volunteer, register at www.mohmi.org. “Team Hope needs as many volunteers as we can get,” said Morris.

This year’s event will feature the music of Kevin Fitzgerald. “His music keeps everything alive and exciting. We are really lucky to have Kevin as part of our team,” said Morris.

The packaging event brings together seniors, families, school age children, sports teams and clubs, all joining to help. “I cannot wait to see everyone,” said Morris, “this will be a lot of fun.”
