La Scarpa has moved to Heritage Square, a perfect location to enjoy a day at the salon and spa, shop with friends, sip coffee at the new Starbucks and lunch at the popular Philly Grill.

But make sure to leave enough time to explore the racks at La Scarpa.

La Scarpa has been a Marco Island favorite since 1985, when owner Jeanine Pastore’s parents opened the store. They took frequent trips to Italy, often accompanied by Jeanine or her sisters, to find the finest goods for their customers. After her parents retired in 2007, Jeanine stepped in. Her family’s dedication to quality endures.

The shop was originally a fine shoe salon, and owner Jeanine admits a weakness for shoes. She attends shoe shows regularly to bring the latest styles to the island. La Scarpa carries Attilio Giusti Leombruni (AGL) and Jon Josef shoes, as well as other quality Italian and Spanish brands.

Although the store’s roots are in women’s shoes (‘La Scarpa’

is Italian for ‘shoe’), don’t let the name fool you. Shoppers can find everything at La Scarpa from sportswear to formal wear.

Jeanine feels that clothes should be “wearable, washable and packable” for today’s busy woman. She tells us that she loves the “confidence that fashion gives women.”

A local herself, Jeanine knows her Marco Island customers. She envisions them wearing her fashions in the summer of Wisconsin, the streets of Paris, and relaxing on Marco. A difficult task in versatility, but many of the fashions we saw fit the bill.

Some of the standouts- a reversible print dress by Volt, with two unique designs that can stretch your wardrobe at home or while travelling.

A rack of beautiful dresses by Manuel Canovas seem perfectly suited to the Marco lifestyle. La Scarpa is one of the only stores in the area to carry dresses by Manuel Canovas, renowned for quality fabric and vivid colors. Jeanine tells us “the dresses cut, use of fabric and quality will

last a lifetime.”

La Scarpa carries design favorite Nicole Miller- whose fashions look “fabulous on all women” she tells us. Some of the other well known brands are Diane von Furstenberg (DVF), Equestrian Designs and Save the Queen!, to name a few.

Jeanine’s philosophy on fashion is that it should make you “feel as good as you look.” Her loyal customer base includes women who have been shopping at La Scarpa for thirty years, and even some whose mothers introduced them to the store as children. The combination of high quality brands and warm customer service keeps her customers returning.

La Scarpa’s hours from October to June are Monday to Saturday 10 AM to 5 PM, and Sunday 12 PM- 4 PM. During season the store stays open until 6 PM Monday through Saturday.

La Scarpa is located in Heritage Square (in the former RadioShack space), 1000 N Collier Blvd #20, Marco Island. You can reach them at 239-394-3399 or lascarpa85@gmail.com. Or visit their website www.lascarpaboutique.com or Facebook page.
