Knights of Columbus Swing For Charity

The San Marco Catholic Church Knights of Columbus wore golf attire, instead of their usual flowing black capes, headgear with bright adornments and ceremonial swords, and came out swinging golf clubs last weekend to raise funds for the many charities they support year-round.

“We had well over 110 golfers this year,” said Joe Fatony, the Grand Knight for the Marco Island Knights, who, along with his committee, helped pull together the annual event at the Eagle Creek Country Club.

Some of the many charities the Knights of Columbus donate to include: Meals on Wheels, Dreams are Free, St. John Neumann’s Program for the Disabled, Christmas Island Style, the Special Olympics, and the Society of St. Vincent DePaul.

“This is really an afternoon of golf and then dinner here with some of the most generous people within our community for a great cause,” said Fatony, as he proudly looked at the group of men and women who came to enjoy themselves and contribute to a great cause.
