With the golf tournament and the CJ’s Jazz on the Bay event concluded, the baton has now been passed to the Knights of Columbus as they prepare to host the 3rd annual CIS spaghetti dinner on Tuesday the 8th of November at the San Marco Catholic Church’s Parish Hall from 5PM to 7PM. They’ll be offering up a feast of spaghetti and meatballs, to include salad, bread and dessert for only $10 for adults and $5.00 for kids. Take out is also available for those that cannot make it and will have a friend pick up their meal for them.
Joe Granda, chair of that event for both Christmas Island Style and the Knights of Columbus has again pulled together his “A” Team to make the event another success for both the Knights and the Christmas Committee. “It’s a team effort” commented Granda when speaking about the event; “we do just great, even with Carmen sampling the sauce all day and “Stef” coming in and stealing a meatball or two”, said Granda with a big grin.
“It’s just wonderful to see all of the community come out and support these efforts” said Wanda Day, another committee member and secretary of the CIS board of directors. “Marco is such a special place and it really shows during the holiday season when we all come together at events like the tree lighting, parades, Santa’s Arrival and so many of the events we do”.
So if your looking for a great meal at a reasonable price and want to help support the Christmas Island Style events, such as the tree lighting, street parade, boat parade, holiday salute to veterans and the many other events, come to the San Marco Catholic Church on Tuesday November 8th, starting at 5PM and bring your appetite and a smile.
If you have questions regarding any of the events or looking for opportunities to participate in Christmas Island Style please don’t hesitate to call CIS Chairman Steve “Stef” Stefanides at 250-8348 or visit our website at www.christmasislandstyle.com to download parade applications or check for event dates.
