All the stars seemed to align for the 18th running of the Kiwanis Car show Sunday at the NCH Healthcare Center on Heathwood Drive and San Marco Road.

“We’re thrilled with the turnout,” said event organizer John DeRosa, “considering these times with the virus. We’ve had a great turnout of cars and a great turnout of crowd. The Knights of Columbus is doing a great job with the food tent and the Columbiettes are almost sold out of pastries. It’s a spectacular day. We have great vendors. NCH is here giving everybody masks.”

“What a beautiful day,” Keith Pershing said. Pershing is the island’s vintage car guru. It seems like he works on all of the vintage cars on the island.

“They do a fantastic job putting it together,” Pershing said as he surveyed the parking lot. “This is the king—the biggest, best car show on Marco Island. It’s a great spectrum of cars—you can see something you like here. There’s no particular rule for make, model or age.”
