Each school year, the Calusa Garden Club and the Junior Gardeners of Tommie Barfield Elementary School select a hands-on project. This year they used Earth Boxes for easy container gardening.
With Earth Boxes, everything is included with the kit except the soil. The planter comes with watering tube, a set of caster wheels for easy moving, fertilizer, dolomite and cover. The instructions explain exactly how to add the dolomite and fertilizer into the soil, where to plant, and how to water. It was a perfect project for the Junior Gardeners at Tommie Barfield.
And the best part – no weeding! The watering tube is located in the corner of the box and you simply fill the reservoir until water begins to spill out from below. Once this happens, you know the reservoir is full and your plants have what they need. There are no worries of overwatering or drowning the leaves during watering. They are also great for condo container gardening and you can elevate the Earth Box to avoid bending over.
Happy growing with your Earth Boxes!
