J.Robert’s Florida Songwriter Showcase is marching forward into its 2018 winter series at the Margood Harbor Theater after a popular 13-week summer series at The Marco Theater. The show is a music presentation featuring songwriters who have composed and recorded original Florida music. Every first Monday evening of the month from 6:30 to 9:30 PM, songwriters will take the stage to share tales and original music ranging in style from Americana and old timey music to heritage blues and southern rock, as well as trop rock and Caribbean jazz.

The evening includes a performance of original songs, Q & A with the audience, as well as a Nashville style songwriter jam. During the shows, musicians will share personal stories about Florida heritage and inspiration for their songwriting and musical talents.

The Florida Songwriters Showcase continues on February 5, 2018, with: Gator Nate – The Psychobilly Gladezmen singer from Devil’s Garden! Ray Cerbone – Americana and more…lead singer with The Apocalypse Blues Revue. Rita Youngman – Seminole woman sings of Marshtackie horses and warriors.

This event is produced and directed by J.Robert Houghtaling, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and film score composer, who has developed friendships with many talented songwriters. “Songwriting isn’t just about making music…it’s a lifestyle!”

The Margood Harbor Park Theater, with its pavilions and playgrounds wrapped around a charming harbor, is a perfect backdrop for this live music and local flavor event. The theater is located at 325 Pear Tree Avenue, Goodland. The suggested donation at the door is $10. Doors open at 6 PM, with the performance from 6:30 to 9:30 PM.
