It was a celebration opening for the long-awaited Celebration Park food court park. The opening of the park was widely anticipated; once it did, it did not disappoint. Trucks were in place and the hungry lined up to place their orders. Tables were filled with family and friends and the bar was abuzz. The parking lot was filled to the brim as patrons coming in were lining up waiting for the parking of those leaving. Others came by taxi or by boat.
Live entertainment was provided by Marco Island’s own Josh Ferris, Tony Smith and Chris Bowden. The group billed themselves as “The Band With No Name,” since it was their first official appearance as a group, although they’ve played together often as friends.
Besides good music, food was the highlight of the evening. At Celebration Park, there is a wide selection of dining options to satisfy any palate: pulled pork, lamb chops, beignets, spicy samosas, fish and shrimp. Whether you like Greek, Indian, American, gourmet or organic fare… Finding a place to sit was a challenge with opening night crowds, but we were able to find a little corner to sit and enjoy our dinner.
The open air atmosphere was a nice treat with a cool breeze. As crowded as it may have been, there is something about being outside that makes it not feel cramped. We can’t wait to go back to try another truck’s culinary offerings!
