Memorial Day Weekend was a stunner for the residents and friends of beautiful Isles of Capri just north of Marco Island. The Isles are a close little community with lots of walkers, joggers, bikers and golf-carts. There’s yoga, Chair Yoga, Bridge, Mahjong, Mexican Train and Bingo at the Community Center with special guest speakers at monthly community members’ meetings. The meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the month at 7 PM and are open to the public with a “social event” held at the end of the meeting.
Not to mention the fishing guides, boat rentals, three restaurants on the water, with dockage if you come by boat for the fresh fish entrees. A Bocci League forms during the “season” (thanks to Eddie and Ann Hall) and has become so popular that there are teams that now play year-round, weather permitting, on Mondays/Fridays at 9 AM. You don’t need to sign up, just show up!
Getting back to the Memorial Day Weekend, there was a graduation party for Anthony, the grandson of Claudia and Jeff Smith, the reveal of the new sign that you see on the left as you enter Isles of Capri and a free concert at Dolphin Point, where the St. Patrick’s Day band played along with fun and dancing ‘til the wee hours. This is the front and back of the new sign, a beautiful salute to the beauty surrounding us and a welcome to all who come to dine, imbibe or live. This is a good time to take advantage of easy seating without the crowds and the same delectable food and drinks. I hope to see you there!
