Albert Einstein said, “Our death is not an end if we can live on in children and the younger generation.”
Tony Sans wore many hats on Marco Island: lifeguard at Residents Beach, Parks and Recreation employee, Sports Camp counselor and Code enforcement compliance officer. It is with great sadness we report Tony passed away on Tuesday, April 22.
Tony was born in Vietnam in December 1973. He was adopted by his parents Robert and Cynthia (nee Sattfield) Sans. He grew up in Wisconsin before moving to Naples in 2001. He is survived by his parents; brothers John Sans of Jackson, Wisconsin, and Timothy Sans of Madison, Wisconsin; his grandparents, Robert and Joye Satterfield of Lincolnshire, Illinois; nephews, Owen, Benjamin, Derik and Gavin; nieces, Isabelle and Samara; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Tony had a passion for mentoring and coaching children in Collier County. He had the unique ability to relate to young people at their level whether they were 5 years old or 15 years old. With always a broad smile and compassion in his heart, he brought happiness to all around him. His spirit will live on in hundreds of area families.
A lasting memorial is being planned. Contact Mindy or Lola at Mackle Park at 239-642-0575 for further information.
