Important Marco Island Update

Boil Water Notice in Effect

The City of Marco Island experienced a system wide water pressure loss as a result of Hurricane Irma. All City of Marco Island water customers are notified to boil water prior to consumption until further notice.

Citizens should keep the following in mind post storm: there will be downed power lines, flooding and debris in the roadway – use extreme caution. LCEC reports at least 2,000 homes or businesses have lost power.

Marco Island residents should not expect to return to the island immediately, as damage assessment crews will be conducting post storm inspections of bridges, roadways and other infrastructure. The City will endeavor to keep any island re-entry restrictions to a minimum time period; however the safety of the island’s residents is paramount.
