Ideas Will Bloom at Naples Garden Show

Do you want to learn more about unique container gardening ideas or micro irrigation? Or you simply want to learn how to successfully grow tomatoes on a small space?

Explore all this and more at the 17th Annual Naples Yard and Garden Show, to be held Saturday, November 9 from 9 AM to 4 PM and Sunday, November 10 from 10 AM to 3 PM.

The Huge Plant Sale is back at UF/ IFAS Extension Collier County Office, 14700 Immokalee Road, (ten miles west of I-75) before the county fairgrounds.

This year’s show features dozens of vendors offering bromeliads, orchids, palms, tropical shrubs and trees, heliconias, gingers, fruit trees, succulents, herbs and vegetables. Popular this year is colorful native and non-native pollinator plants that attract birds (even hummingbirds) and butterflies.

Don’t miss the large selection of garden décor items, pottery and old cypress wood to mount stag horn ferns. Extension 4-H youth will again be pulling wagons to assist in transporting plants to your car.

Master Gardeners will be answering questions and providing weekend gardeners plant care tips, and disease/pest diagnostics. Bring your plant/pest samples in a sealed plastic bag. Take advantage of our speakers and hands-on demonstrations.

Take a tour of the beautiful display gardens and fruit orchard, each with blooming plant ideas. No matter your style you’ll find inspiration for shade gardens, butterfly gardens, edible gardening, and more. Master Gardeners will be available in each of the gardens to answer your questions.

The Collier County Extension 4-H youth will have plenty of activities for your kids. Watch the 4-H grilling club as they learn proper outdoor cooking. Bring your family and friends, and enjoy one or both of the days at Collier County Extension!

Entrance admission, payable in cash only, is $5 for adults; children 12 and under are free. But hold on to your tickets, as you might be the winner of one of our hourly door prizes courtesy of our vendors (you need to be present). All proceeds are used to support the Master Gardeners’ education programs.
