Hurricane season is around the corner, and now is the time to prepare. America’s Boating Club – Marco Island will hold Hurricane Preparedness Seminar on May 9, 2019 from 6- 8 PM at the Club’s Learning Center, 1114 Collier Blvd., Marco Island. Marco Island boaters are invited to register for this important seminar.
Taught by Past Club Commander Rhonda Gloodt and America’s Boating Club District 22 Commander Ted Reiss, the seminar will examine the components of a hurricane – wind, surge and rain – and how to protect your vessel from a hurricane’s damaging effects. It will cover all storage options from trailer, land, slips/marinas, mooring/anchoring, davits and lifts as well as removal from the area.
“With hurricane season fast approaching, we urge Marco area boat owners to take advantage of this chance to learn about ways to prepare for storms and to protect their vessel from damage,” said Thomas G. Morr, Commander of America’s Boating Club – Marco Island.
The cost of the seminar and materials is $40 and the course is offered to all members of the Club and the boating public. Space is limited, advance registration required.
