It’s the 7th Annual Festival of Trees Tradition at Marco Island’s Center for the Arts and the gallery Lighted Up for the festive occasion. This is also a community event—a chance for the community to participate and display their unique and one-of-a-kind Christmas trees.
A few rules for the display—the trees had to be 3-foot or smaller and can be decorated with any theme or style. Some displays stayed true to the traditional theme and others went outside the box.
Though it was not quite in the magnitude of the 75-foot Norway spruce at the Rockefeller Center, the spirit at the Center for the Arts was the same—Festive Holiday Tradition!
According to Executive Director Hyla Crane, the response had been overwhelming for the 2020 Festival of Trees. Visitors voted for the “People’s Choice Award,” and had a chance to bid for the trees they’d like to take home.
Congratulations to the Marco Island Shell Club for receiving the People’s Choice Award – “Angels in a Pink Cloud” in Honor of our 2020 Fallen Angels and Celebrating our 2020 Heroic Angels.
Runner–up was the “Coronavirus” by April Riley, a pyramid of toilet paper, a tribute to the early “hoarding of paper towels” during the early phase of COVID-19
The Festival of Trees was a fundraiser for the Center for the Arts with funds to benefit the classes for children and adults, art exhibits and monthly events.
