At a recent festive holiday gathering at Bistro Soleil, the Marco Island Historical Society (MIHS) welcomed new members to its Board of Directors. The 2016 additions to the Society’s leadership are County Commissioner Donna Fiala, Sonja Laidig and Linda Sandlin.
“We are so proud of our Board of Directors,” said Pat Rutledge, the MIHS president and executive director. “The Society is fortunate to have a group of talented leaders guiding us on our mission to finish the Pioneer Room, the Historical Museum’s third and final permanent exhibit gallery, in 2016 and to secure theloans of the treasured Calusa artifacts in 2017-2018. Adding such accomplished members as Donna Fiala, Sonja Laidig and Linda Sandlin to the team will ensure our success.”
Since the gathering was also the Historical Society’s Annual Meeting, Rutledge reported on the excellent progress that the MIHS is making toward completing its 2014-2016 Strategic Plan and the work that is underway to set new goals for the 2017-2020 period.
