Historic Movie Night

Relive your childhood memories!

The Everglades Society for Historic Preservation is hosting an “Old-Fashioned Movie Night” showing the full-length film “Distant Drums” starring Gary Cooper.

This feature film was made in 1951 and focuses on the Seminole Wars in the 1850s with scenes shot around this area. Cooper plays a Army captain and the love interest is provided by Mari Aldon who has been captured by the Indians. The movie is in Technicolor and runs 1 hours and 40 minutes.

Come enjoy popcorn and soda while you indulge in nostalgia at 5:30 p.m. in the Jinkins Fellowship Hall in Everglades Community Church on Friday, February 15. The event is free and open to the public.
