As a community, Marco Island is moving forward with plans for the 2018 Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks. The purpose of this letter is to ask for your help in sustaining the level and quality of this year’s fireworks display, which is such an important part of our American cultural tradition.
During last year’s budget discussions, the City Council once again voted to set aside $26,000 (half of the total cost) in funding for the fireworks display. Our City Council understands the importance of this type of celebration to our residents, along with the economic impact it has on our Island community.
We are now reaching out to our citizens, community organizations, and businesses to show their support of this tradition raising funds for the remaining 50% of the cost of the fireworks. We firmly believe that most residents and businesses on Marco Island support a quality display, similar to the displays that we have held in the past.
Therefore, we are asking for donations to assist in making sure the City celebrates our 4th of July as in past years.
A contribution will recognize you or your organization as a partner in this effort. If your contribution is $3,000 or more, we will make arrangements for you to present your check directly to City Council with media present.
I hope you will donate to Marco Island’s long-standing fireworks display this year. For your contribution, you will be recognized, by name, through our annual “Thank You” spot in the Marco Eagle, the Chamber of Commerce website and our regular emails.
Thank you all!
NO DONATION TOO SMALL!
Please make your check payable to the MICC – Fireworks and mail to: Marco Island Area Chamber of Commerce, 1102 North Collier Blvd., Marco Island, FL 34145.
If you prefer, you are welcome to bring your contribution to our offices in person at the address above. (Cash or check only, please) All donations are tax deductible. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call on us.
Your support for this important community celebration is greatly appreciated!
