A New Year means plenty of new ideas from the Marco YMCA of South Collier, and among the January highlights is the next Health & Wellness Fair.
It is scheduled for 11 AM through 1 PM, January 23rd, in the Youth Development Center—with free lunch from Stonewalls.
The program begins at noon and features guest speakers Jill Burzynski of Burzynski Elder Law talking about planning for one’s future, Angela Larson from the Collier County Sheriff’s Office talking about scam protection, Bridget Murray-Popescu on “keeping healthy and finding purpose in life, and Danielle Dyer of Right at Home in Home Care and Assistance on caregiver tips.
Members and non-members are welcome. Call Deborah Passero at 239-394-3144 for more information. The deadline for registration is January 21.
Another activity proving popular among all ages from 18 up is “Jukebox Saturday Night,” when participants can dance like nobody’s watching because nobody is watching. They’re all dancing too.
The 7 PM to 11 PM fun dance sessions include styles such as West Coast Swing, East Coast Swing, Jive, Jitterbug, Line Dancing and Salsa.
The next get-together is January 18, which will feature a “combo dance night.”
Fees are $15 per person, and the dance–offs take place in the Y main gym off the lobby.
The plus is free dance lessons (with admission) with the All-Star Dance Studio from 7 to 8 PM. Subway sandwiches will be available at just $2. For more information, call Steve Reynolds at 239-285-6785.
