Marco Island Meals of Hope will hold a Happy Hour for Hope from 5 to 7 PM on Monday, August 27 at Pinchers Crab Shack, 591 S. Collier Blvd., Marco Island.
Bill “Captain Happy Hope” Morris said, “Everybody at Pinchers has been great to work with, especially their manager, Jacque. This business has very much become part of the Marco Island community. This should be a great event.”

Happy Hours for Hope are fundraisers, raising about $15,000 each year. The $20 admission fee helps buy food for the Meals of Hope (MOH) packaging event on November 17, 2018, but additional funding is still needed. The event has a budget of $50,000. Morris explained, “These events are a big part of our funding, but we also need support from donors. This year 10 individuals and businesses donated a minimum of $600 to become Friends of Hope. We still need over $10,000 in donations.”
Rosetta Stone will perform and there will be a 50/50 drawing. MOH has a cumulative 50/50 drawing building until the packaging event in November, when a winner will be selected.
Marco MOH is a joint effort of Kiwanis, Noontime Rotary and Sunrise Rotary clubs. It is a hands-on approach to combating hunger in our community. Last year, volunteers packed over 250,000 meals for distribution through the MOH distribution network. Organizers hope to equal that number this year.
Admission to Happy Hour for Hope is $20 and everyone is invited.
