The Marco Island Princess will not be leaving port for this event, but does offer cruises almost every day. Bill “Captain Happy Hope” Morris had a lot of praise for this month’s venue. “Robin Shifflett and Captain Rodger Parcelles go out of their way to make sure this is a great event. The food is wonderful, we are on the water and the folks on the boat make everyone feel welcome.”

Rosetta Stone will provide entertainment. Her talented voice has graced Happy Hours for Hope for years. Graciously donating her services, she has become a fixture at the events. According to Bill “Captain Happy Hope” Morris, “Rosetta Stone is a big part of our success. Many come just to hear her!”

Happy Hours for Hope are fundraisers for Marco Island’s Meals of Hope. The $20 admission fee helps the organization buy food for its packaging event in November. Happy Hours for Hope raise about $15,000 each year. The packaging event in November has a budget of $50,000. Morris explained, “These events are a big part of our funding, but we also need support from donors. This year ten individuals and businesses donated a minimum of $600 to become Friends of Hope. We still need over $10,000 in donations.”

Happy Hour for Hope has it all. Marco Island Princess will provide delicious appetizers and discounted drink prices. A 50/50 drawing is always offered. This year the events will also have a cumulative 50/50 drawing to build until the winner is selected at the packaging event on November 17, 2018.

Marco Meals of Hope is a joint effort of Kiwanis, Noontime Rotary and Sunrise Rotary Clubs. It is a hands-on approach to combating hunger in our community. Volunteers work year round raising funds for its packaging event at Marco Island Charter Middle School. Last year, volunteers packed over 250,000 meals for distribution through the Meals of Hope distribution network. Organizers hope to equal that number this year.

Admission to Happy Hour for Hope is only $20 and everyone is invited. For more information, please contact Bill “Captain Happy Hope” Morris at 239- 642-6020.
