Marco Island Meals of Hope will hold its August “Happy Hour for Hope” on Monday, August 28, 2017 at Pinchers Crab Shack, 591 S. Collier Blvd., Marco Island, from 5 to 7 PM.
Bill “Captain Happy Hope” Morris confirmed, “everybody at Pinchers has been great to work with, especially their manager, Jacque. This is a business that very much is becoming part of the Marco Island community. This should be a great event.”
Admission to Happy Hour for Hope is only $10. Happy Hours for Hope are charity events, where most of the guests donate a lot more than the cost of admission. Restaurant supporters provide light snacks, but anyone attending who wants to eat dinner can order from the menu or stay after the event. Live entertainment will be provided by Rosetta Stone as she has done for many years.
Marco Meals of Hope is a joint effort of Kiwanis, Noontime Rotary and Sunrise Rotary Clubs. It is a hands-on approach to combating hunger in our community. Volunteers work year round raising funds for its packaging event at Marco Island Charter Middle School. Last year, volunteers packed over 250,000 meals for distribution through the Meals of Hope distribution network. Organizers hope to do equal that number at the packaging event on November 18, 2017.
