Gulfshore Opera is kicking off the new year with some exciting shows in Southwest Florida. In its fourth season, Gulfshore Opera has employed seven Professional Artist in Residence, all with New York management to tour the region with a variety of concerts appealing to many tastes and easy on the budget.

Starting off the new year is “Very Verdi,” a “stand up and sing” concert of well-loved opera hits by one of opera’s most famous composers. It will feature arias, duets and scenes from powerful moments in the famous Verdi operas. It will be held at Rose History Auditorium on Marco Island on January 19. More “Very Verdi” concerts will be performed in February.

The second show in January will be “Classic Cabaret,” an informal evening of popular songs with jazz piano trio accompaniment. This concert is a casual social mixer in the true cabaret style, with breaks in between sets for the audience to enjoy the wine and cheese spread available at each location. “Classic Cabaret” will be performed three times in January, and you can catch this show at the Alliance for the Arts in Fort Myers on January 20, at the Sanibel Community House on January 22 and at the Naples Botanical Garden on January 24.
