The topic of “growth” seems to be all over the local news lately.
In her most recent column in Coastal Breeze News, County Commissioner Donna Fiala provided additional detail on the large number of projects in the works and/or underway in East Naples. In short, we’re booming.
As the Market CEO for Physicians Regional Healthcare System, I assure you, we have been preparing for this growth spurt for quite some time.
Yes, we have new homes and businesses popping up all over the place; however, as Physicians Regional is the most high-profile healthcare provider in East Naples, we have long since understood our role in caring for all of East Naples, those who already live here and as well as our new and future neighbors.
If you look at the history of healthcare in this country, it’s easy to understand why many don’t automatically associate the term “healthcare” with “convenience.” That’s just not always been the case. But my question continues to be: why can’t we just change that?
My strong belief is that each of us should be able to expect convenient access to medical professionals—and I’m proud to say that Physicians Regional is leading the charge in East Naples.
Those of you living on—or adjacent to—Marco Island already enjoy the convenience of Physicians Regional-Marco Island. Located at the corner of Barfield and San Marco, this state-of-the-art facility is one-part “Walk-In Clinic” and one-part “Doctor’s Office,” with primary care included as part of the mix.
Physicians Regional-Marco Island and Physicians Regional-Crossroads Plaza (located adjacent to Physicians Regional-Pine Ridge) have been so well received by the patient public that we just broke groundon a new facility, Physicians Regional-East Naples, located at the intersection of Thomasson Drive and Cardinal Way just west of U.S. 41.
Similar to our Marco Island and Crossroads Plaza locations, the new 9,000 sq. ft. facility will house a walk-in clinic able to handle minor injuries, as well as colds, flu, strep throat and other illnesses.
Additional services at the new facility will include x-ray, lab, immunizations, annual physicals and health screenings.
When complete in early 2017, Physicians Regional-East Naples will also offer appointment-based access to primary care physicians.
The best part: no appointments will be necessary at the walk-in clinic. As it will clearly state on the sign outside, just “walk in.” During season, the two existing facilities and the new facility will be open seven days per week.
And why this specific location? After looking at the growing East Naples community and the planned development—both residential and commercial, all demographic indicators were extremely positive for this location.
More simply, for so many who reside in East Naples, it’s easy to get to.
Even those who live on Marco or in Hammock Bay, Fiddler’s Creek and other 951-adjacent communities will likely discover that the new Physicians Regional-East Naples will offer a beneficial going-to-and-from-work health care alternative.
Additionally, as our Collier Boulevard hospital campus is only four miles away, the new clinic is well situated to be a satellite location to both of our hospitals.
As I know that East Naples will continue to grow, I also believe that current and new residents will appreciate having medical services close by.
After all, when it comes to Marco Island and East Naples, Physicians Regional is nothing if not close to home.
