Australian blues artist, Michael Charles, is coming to both Naples and Goodland. The six-time Grammy elected artist will play on April 7th at Freddie Rebels in Naples and on April 9th at The Little Bar Restaurant in Goodland.
The magic of Michael Charles reveals a lifetime of musical and career accomplishments which span both decades and oceans. Born in Australia, and with a soul full of blues, Charles did not choose music, but music chose him. At the age of 5, “MC” picked up his first guitar. By age 12, he took to the stage and the road with his musical talents.
Since then, MC has produced 27 albums and has been nominated for a Grammy award six times; most recently in 2010, and again in 2011.
In 1990, MC came to the United States, thanks to Mr. Buddy Guy and his management. This move satisfied a long-time personal, deep interest in America. Over the years, MC has played and learned from the “masters” of blues and blues rock. His wild, raw, yet miraculously controlled guitar performances are the forefront to his show, as he gives every ounce of energy to all of his original hits.
He has performed with the likes of Buddy Guy, Phil Guy, James Cotton, Willie Cobbs, Junior Wells and Eddy Clearwater. Charles and his own band have performed all over the U.S. and Canada, taking the stage at the Chicago Blues Fest, New Orleans Jazz and Blues Festival, Philadelphia Blues Fest, Memphis Tennessee Crossroads Conference and the Route 66 Summer Festival, just to name a few.
Michael’s 2012 Road Dawg Tour first hits Naples at 9:00 PM on Saturday, April 7th, at Freddie Rebels, 5310 Shirley Street, 239-597-3333. Next up, he will perform at 7:30 PM at The Little Bar Restaurant, 205 Harbor Place, Goodland, 239-394-5663.
