The Goodland Arts Alliance (GAA), along with Collier County Parks and Recreation, is sponsoring its fourth annual outdoor Members’ Arts & Crafts Fair on Sunday, January 29, 10 AM to 4 PM, at MarGood Harbor Park in Goodland. The event coincides with Goodland’s world famous Mullet Festival – a cultural extravaganza unto itself.

Talented members of the GAA gather to support the organization’s mission to “preserve, promote, and advance the cultural presence in the historic fishing village of Goodland through art, history, and education.” The village may be tiny, but the talent is massive.

The venue, MarGood Harbor Park, holds well-documented historic and environmental significance. Today, native landscaping and lovely walkways wrap around a charming harbor-front. The park also features a museum/interpretive center, two open-air pavilions, and a set of four historic fishing cottages dating back to the 1920s.

Proceeds from this event will go towards fulfilling the GAA’s long-range goal to restore and preserve the old cottages and repurpose them into a cooperative cultural center benefiting the community and the public. The cottages were officially designated Historic Buildings in 2014 by the Collier County Board of Commissioners and the Historical and Archeological Preservation Advisory Board.
