Mark your calendars for the Marco Island Chamber of Commerce 7th Annual Souper Bowl, which will take place on Saturday, February 2nd from 11 AM to 1 PM at Mackle Park. For $15, you can purchase a hand painted, one-of-a-kind ceramic bowl and fill it with delicious soup samples from nine local restaurants.
In previous issues, Coastal Breeze News profiled the following participating restaurants: CJ’s on the Bay, Hilton Marco Island, Mango’s, Petit Soleil, Philly Grille, Stonewalls, The Speakeasy and Quinn’s on the Beach at the JW Marriott Marco Island. Our final look is at Island Country Club, which will be returning this year for the second time, and will feature their popular Ruben Soup.
Island Country Club has been a staple on Marco Island since opening its doors in 1966 as the only private Golf and Country Club on the island—and today, features two separate and unique on-site dining facilities. Kurt Beattie, Director of Food & Beverage and Executive Chef, and his team are known for their world class skills and use of only the highest quality ingredients.
Famous for his award-winning chili, Chef Jim Grabowski is also the brains behind this dish. “Like a sandwich in a bowl,” this soup is bursting with flavor from a combination of corned beef, swiss cheese, sauerkraut and thousand island dressing garnished with homemade rye bread croutons.
Island Country Club is passionate about the Marco Island community and holds a deep admiration for events such as this. The entire ICC team is very much looking forward to participating in the 2019 Souper Bowl.
Don’t forget to stop by the ICC table on February 2nd to say “hello” to General Manager, Bid Bakkar, and Director of Membership & Marketing, Heather Hall. For additional information about Island Country Club, visit www.island-countryclub.org or contact Heather Hall at email@example.com or 239-394-6661.
Please plan on attending this year’s Souper Bowl, a wonderful community event that benefits local students. Proceeds benefit the Leadership Marco Scholarship Fund, on behalf of the Marco Island Chamber of Commerce, providing educational scholarships to deserving local students.
