The official opening of Gator Adventures was marked with a ribbon cutting ceremony that included friends, family and visitors. With more than 15 animal species and a petting zoo, Gator Adventures is a fun and educational stop for visitors and locals who are looking for something unique.
Gator Adventures holds alligator shows for schools, clubs and other organizations. A children’s group gathered recently at the Ritz Carlton and had an opportunity to get up close and personal with an alligator thanks to a visit by Gator Adventures. According to Kevin Hennings, owner, and resident gatorwrestler, “We concentrate on making the presentation educational and entertaining.” Discussing how to age an alligator based on its size, the strength of the tail, the number of eyelids and common techniques used to control the alligator, are all intertwined perfectly with a touch of humor. Gator Adventures is part of the Florida Wildlife Advisory Group and proceeds will go towards college scholarships for local children. It is run by Kevin and Molly-Kate Hennings.
Gator Adventures is located at 20018 Tamiami Trail, the corner of San Marco Road and Hwy. 41 East, 239/877-7875 or 394-0380. Find them on the web at alligatorfun.com.
