Free Senior Pet Adoptions in November

Collier County Domestic Animal Services (DAS) is focusing on senior pets during November as it is Adopt-A-Senior- Pet Month. For cats and dogs seven years and older, DAS is offering free adoptions to help find loving homes for the old timers at the shelter.

“A lot of our older cats and dogs are often overlooked,” said Darcy Andrade, DAS Director. “We hope offering free adoptions will entice adopters to consider an older pet,” Andrade added. The next time you are in the shelter, say hello to the gentle graying dog, and spend some time with the seasoned calico cat, and you will see the benefits of owning a senior pet.

Pet adoptions include sterilization surgery, vaccinations, pet license, ID microchip and 30 days of pet health insurance, valued at more than $400.
