First National Bank of the Gulf Coast, a full-service community bank serving the local banking needs of individuals and business owners, has named Ronald Orr as Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Risk Officer. Mr. Orr will be based out of the bank’s headquarters in Naples, FL.
Mr. Orr stated, “I am excited to be able to transition the broad experience I gained over the many years as a national bank examiner into the practical application of building a super community bank with CEO Gary Tice and President Garrett Richter.”
Mr. Orr, a graduate of University of Northern Iowa, has over 30 years of bank examining experience. He began his career with the FDIC in 1980, working as an assistant bank examiner. Four years later, he joined the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency as a national bank examiner. While positioned at the OCC, Mr. Orr spent the last 27 years of his 32-year career examining large nationally chartered regional banks centered in the range of $2 billion to $20 billion in total assets. Mr. Orr has worked as the Examiner in Charge over significant banking organizations in various parts of the country, including Jackson, MS, Salt Lake City, UT, and Beverly Hills, CA. Since 2002, Mr. Orr has been examining banks throughout South Florida and spent the past seven years based out of the Miami Field Office of the OCC.
