The City of Marco Island Fire Rescue Department has provided the following update in their monthly report to city council.
Fire Station 51
- The temporary housing facility has been delivered and is currently in the set-up phase. Staff anticipates that the station will open in mid-March.
- The City Attorney is waiting for a response from the insurance company relating to his correspondence on staff’s position on their FEMA interpretation.
- Staff continues to work with Deangelis Diamond to finalize all needed documents associated with the City’s state grant funding.
Incident Volume and Emergency Incident Overlap
The Fire Rescue Department responded to 391 emergency incidents during the month of January 2017. During this month, the department experienced 126 overlapping emergency incidents greater than two at the same time.
Off-Island Ambulance Response Times
The number of emergency calls for service continues to rise. Response times were in excess of eight minutes for CCEMS ambulance units responding to 11 emergencies from an off-island location for the month of January 2017. The response times were 10, 12, 10, 10, 22, 18, 10, 13, 17, 11, and 13 minutes. Data is generated through CCEMS’s “Image Trend” reporting
