The Marco Island Public Library and the Marco Island Center for the Arts work cooperatively to provide monthly art shows at the Marco Library branch on Heathwood Drive, Marco Island. The months of September, October and November will feature the artwork of Marco Island artist Phyllis Pransky.

Phyllis is an American painter educated in the principles of fine art. Her primary method of painting is in oils on canvas. “I prefer painting alla prima, simple and direct. When light falls upon something and causes it to be beautiful I can’t resist taking the challenge to paint it. Therefore, my subject matter is varied: Still life, Portraiture, Florals, Landscape, Seascape, Interiors, Beach Scenes, Cityscapes.”

Plein-air painting takes her to various locations across the globe. She trusts that you will recognize the meditative quality of each painting and perhaps it will seduce you into its scene. Commissions are welcome. Quotes for portraits or any subject will vary according to size and subject matter. All artwork is for sale with a percentage going to the Marco Island Center for the Arts. Interested buyers can pick up a business card and contact the artist with any questions.
