Yara’s Shoe Boutique first opened on November 1, 2017, at The Esplanade Shoppes on Marco Island. Its owner Yara Moller recently celebrated her third year offering her brand of comfort and style in footwear. Word of mouth was a big part of her success along with caring for all her clients.

Yara Moller has been coming to Marco with her family for many years. When the division she worked for closed down, she viewed this as her opportunity to start her own retail footwear boutique in Marco Island.

According to Yara, it has been an amazing experience beyond her expectation. She has met wonderful people from all over the worldGermany, Russia, Braziland many residents of Marco are now repeat customers. Yara admits that the location is a bit of a challenge in the slow summer months with less foot traffic.

Yara was on track for her best year when the pandemic hit. It happened during the high season and her business went down 80% overnight. Her shop shut down for six weeks and came back slowly in May.

For the months of July, August and September, foot traffic started to pick up. It is a mix of clientele with visitors who are here in Marco with their families and felt the need to get back to normal. They are starting to get back to shopping for footwear and accessories.

Yara has added more brands since 2017 and also included shoes and accessories for children and young adults. Clients are also looking for reasonably priced footwear with a touch of bling. Her topselling brand, Skechers, offers contemporary stylesSOFFT is known for comfortable footbeds. VIONICS is a doctor recommended brand with dressy and comfortable options and also offers support with removal insoles, which can be substituted with a doctor prescribed arch support.

During the midst of the pandemic, Yara made home deliveries in her neighborhood. Interested clients would email or send her text message on the brand, style, size and color of their choice. Yara would drop the boxes off by the front doorso no personal contact. Once the clients picked out their choice of shoes, they either paid for them in cash or credit. Yara is still offering this service as a shopping option if clients are still wary of venturing out.

Finding your SOLE mate can be a bit of a process. Yara’s Shoe Boutique makes this easy with personal care, more brands offering style and comfort for sandals, flats, dress shoes, casuals and slippers.
