Monday, Dec. 8, marked the opening night of the First Annual Festival of Trees at the Marco Island Center for the Arts. Visitors entered the upstairs studio to find it had been transformed into a winter wonderland by 28 unique Christmas trees arranged around the room.

Local artists, businesses and community organizations each submitted original creations for display and some for sale. The exhibition will be open 5-9 PM on December 12, 15, 16 and 18; and from 11 AM-2 PM on Dec. 13, when Santa will be making an appearance.

“We hope that people will come and enjoy this and that it will become another wonderful event as part of the holiday season here on Marco Island,” said Hyla Crane, Center for the Arts executive director.
